Aboh! v1.10 – Over-Compressed & Depressed Noisebud, 2026, April 20 You probably need a little de-press. Aboh! helps you deal with over-compressed material by letting you adjust separate gain controls for when the signal goes above or below a threshold. It works like Peach: you set a threshold, then you decide what happens above it and what happens below it. The idea is simple: when you get a track for mastering that’s been slammed with compression and limiting, you often hear that annoying reverse pumping in breakdowns and quieter passages. As soon as the compressor and limiter let go, the level suddenly jumps up unnaturally. Normally you’d have to draw automation to fix it. That’s where Aboh! steps in. The loud and intense sections stay completely untouched – they already sound the way the mixing engineer intended. But as soon as the track drops into a break, pause, or quieter section, Aboh! compensates the level automatically. You can even sidechain it to, for example, the kick drum in EDM, so the plugin instantly knows when the groove is back and can correct the level down to the millisecond. Automation almost never nails it this precisely. A fun detail: this was actually the plugin I first intended to make when I started developing Peach. That explains the similarities. But I got sidetracked by experiments with volume control as an alternative to the traditional ratio method of compressors… and then came the output filter and everything else that turned Peach into its own thing. What’s new in v1.10 Curve control redesign – the curve control is now a round knob instead of a bar, matching the time controls and making it quicker and more intuitive to dial in. Sidechain spectrum markers – two small dots now show where you’ve set the sidechain filter, even when no signal is present. No more guessing on a blank screen. Sidechain auto-adjust – automatically normalizes the input volume so the signal lands roughly around the threshold midpoint, making setup easier and faster. GUI refinements – Delta and Bypass have been moved slightly to the right, while Sidechain and Preview are now placed to the left for a cleaner workflow.
