WUT2 Noisebud, 2023, June 202025, May 27 WUT2 is an extremely digital processor with the aim to make you feel like tweaking analog gear. It’s trying to emulate the analog workflow, not the sound. The idea is that by laying out the controls and letting them react with the audio in a certain way you will be more present and become better at listening. Hopefully, you’ll have the same feeling of tweaking this as I do. WUT2 has 3 bands, weight, mid-thing, and air. They all have similarities with an EQ, especially the weight and air bands but there’s nothing common with them on the inside. The mid-thing band works mostly as a stereo and dynamic widening tool but will boost the mids with about 1dB at the max position. So far I’ve used it mainly for mastering but I think the weight and strain control would be cool on basses or without strain to create that massive movie low-end for sound effects. I’m guessing that the mid-thing and air band could sound amazing on vocals, let’s try that! I haven’t had the time to update the manual but aiming to do that next week.
