PHIFT – Make stiff low-end pop! Noisebud, 2024, April 172025, May 27 PHIFT is an experimental plugin to bring life into stiff low-end in (mostly) music with electronic-created low-end. It may work and sound good with acoustic-recorded sounds too but there is a great chance that acoustic-recorded kicks will sound a bit weird using PHIFT. PHIFT uses phase and pitch to move around the low end in a way that will be perceived as more vibrant by the human brain. It’s a bit of psychoacoustic magic. PHIFT uses the existing harmonics in the signal to make your brain perceive the fundamental but the existing fundamental in the signal will be slightly pitched, making your brain interpret the low-end to have a kind of chorus-like effect, which will feel more lively and vibrant. Available as: Windows – 64bit VST3 macOS – 64bit AU & VST3 (Not signed and notarized (yet)) The installers will install the builds from the current stable framework (OLD), and the newer beta framework (NEW). That means: Windows installer; Will install 2 different VST3 builds. They’re named “plugin name OLD” and “plugin name NEW” in your plugin list. Mac installer; Will install 2 different AU versions. They’re named “plugin name OLD” and “plugin name NEW” in your plugin list. Plus, a VST3 version built with the newer beta framework, is also named “plugin name NEW” in your list of plugins. There are no sonic differences between the OLD and NEW versions, use the one that works the best for your system. If you want to uninstall versions you don’t use, you have to manually delete the corresponding plugins from your plugin folders.
