VOLT festival Noisebud, 2011, June 12 alva noto , a photo by Noisebud on Flickr. Yesterday we took the car to Uppsala and visited the VOLT festival. There was one act we just couldn’t miss..Alva Noto. Was it worth the trip? Definitely. It was a very seductive performance. We also got time to check out nomation, one of Uppsala’s real techno veterans. During the beginning of the 2000’s, Erik Möller became known internationally as a champion of stripped-down house. At the time, he was releasing on such labels as Force Tracks and Sub Static. Later in the evening Kymatica played a beautiful ambient set. Kymatica (Jonatan Liljedahl) is a composer and performer of electroacoustic music, influenced by noise, minimal, drone and stochastic music. The process of synthesis is his main passion, in which he explores the aural results of algorithmic symmetry and chaos, in many ways connecting to the inner structures of nature. Ben Klock topped off the evening and seemed to have the crowd going real good while we started to head back to Stockholm. If you haven’t been to this festival we really hope to see you there next year! http://www.voltfestivalen.se/info Blog
