Reaper Script Update: Region & Item Name Batch Editor

Hey!

When I first released this script, I wasn’t sure if it would only be useful for me. But judging from all the feedback, many of you have already downloaded it and found it super helpful in your own workflow. That’s been amazing to see—thank you!

This new version takes it a few steps further with some big improvements.

What’s new in v8.1

• New layout – a cleaner, more practical GUI that makes batch renaming smoother.

• Wildcards – insert project data, track names, region numbers, and more directly into your names.

• Support for both Regions and Items (take names) – you can now batch rename across regions and takes, or both at the same time.

• Auto-clear fields after Apply – no more resetting between runs, the fields now clear themselves once you apply changes.

Main features

• Edit Region names and/or Item (take) names.

• Choose what to target: Regions, Items, or Both.

• Remove characters from the start or end of names.

• Find/Replace (empty replace = remove).

• Add prefix/suffix.

• Wildcards:
  $project, $author, $samplerate, $bpm, $marker, $region, $regionnumber, $track, $item/$take

• Selection wildcards:
  $seltrack, $selitem

• Live preview of changes directly in the list (hover to see original).

• If none are selected, all visible elements will be affected.
