Purr-Lufs v1.02

Hey people,
I’ve received some demo requests for Purr-Lufs in the past week, and I decided to make it happen since I had an hour of free time before leaving the studio today. I have attached them below.

There’s nothing new for Patreons with a subscription, but I take the opportunity to wish you all a great weekend! =)

Changelog

  • Fixed – The plugin would create a slow fade-in at the track’s beginning while rendering in certain situations.

  • Removed a 100ms delay when hitting the “Lock”-button, it was a leftover from Purr-Fect that’s not needed in Purr-Lufs.

TLDR; Purr-Lufs is a plugin that will give you LUFS-based gain compensation with any plugin, hardware, or chain of effects.

One of the biggest changes in how I work came with my first gain-compensating plugin Purr-Fect. I found that using any plugin, plugin chain, or hardware with fast and reliable gain compensation made my masters better and allowed me to get there in half the time. No more guesswork; what I heard was what I got… Or, was it? It turns out that there was room for improvement, which I realized when I was experimenting with using LUFS to compensate for level changes instead of the algorithm used in Purr-Fect.

Similar to Purr-Fect, what sets Purr-Lufs apart from the competition is how fast it is to work with. Once you have completed the initial setup process (which can be a pain, I know) and saved that as a template, you’ll be able to dial in EQs and other processes faster than ever. The difference with Purr-Lufs is that it is even better at helping you dial in settings that will be perceived as louder once released. The reason is that Purr-Lufs uses the same technique for measuring loudness as all the major streaming services, so what you hear is what you get. There’s one downside to using LUFS, though. The plugin isn’t as fast as Purr-Fect.

If you’re using Purr-Fect, you’ll love this new version.

Available as:

  • Windows – 64bit VST3

  • macOS – 64bit AU & VST3 (Not signed and notarized (yet))

I created Purr-Router for those of you who use Reaper. It may also be helpful in other DAWs but is specifically made for use in Reaper. It will make the routing needed to get Purr-Lufs working as quick as loading a plugin, which is exactly what you do. =)
How to use it is covered in the manual. It is called Purr-Fect Router in the manual but it is the same. You can use the old version of the router if you already have that installed, Purr-Fect Router and Purr-Router are pretty much the same plugin.
