Blind Beta 003 Noisebud, 2026, April 20 A new beta of Blind with a lot of bug fixes is now available! Changelog Beta 003 Fixed the main makeup gain so that it goes from -6 to 6dB instead of the weird numbers in Beta 002′ Fixed the bug where the band gain compensation didn’t always work as intended in mid/side-mode Fine-tuned the band gain compensation to remove clicks and other artifacts that could appear The automation data for all bands are currently called “Band 4”. That will be fixed in the final release. Blind is a 7-band, 100% extremely clean, mastering equalizer. It’s inspired by two different mastering equalizers, the Maselec MEA-2 and the plugin Analog Magpha by Balance Mastering. Maselec MEA-2: http://www.maselec.com/products/mea-2/Maselec%20MEA-2%20Home%20Page.htm Analog Magpha EQ: https://www.kvraudio.com/product/analog-magpha-eq-by-balance-mastering *Link to the KVR page since there seems to be something wrong with the developer’s site (http://ww1.balancemastering.com). I downloaded the demo of Analog Magpha a couple of years ago and instantly liked it. Probably because the concept behind it is in line with my philosophy of mastering and of audio as a whole. The GUI forces you to use your ears, pretty much. Modern EQ plugins give you too much visible feedback and you stop listening. I wanted to buy it but being a plugin junky I had to consider that I already owned about 20-30 similar EQ plugins, audio wise it wouldn’t bring too much new to the table. I can’t spend another $110 on a plugin that I don’t really need just because I like the workflow and the stripped-down GUI, can I? A couple of years later I decided to ignore all of that, I occasionally loaded up the demo version and the itch got too to a point where I couldn’t resist. But, the balance mastering website didn’t work… I couldn’t go through with my purchase. So, I decided to make a similar plugin myself. Two days later I had a rough but working version. Since then I made small changes and fixed bugs. It slowly grew into a creation that stands on its own, and one day I gave it the name Blind and decided to start the process of making it available to the world. I started with the manual but it’s not finished, as usual, I’ll do that as soon I can find the time!
